Overview & Description:
The ITN Security Technician shall ensure the safety of Computer Systems and networks by implementing and maintaining security measures. He/She shall monitor systems for vulnerabilities, respond to security incidents, and provide technical support related to security tools and processes.
Responsibilities:
Technical activities:
- Regularly inspect systems and networks for vulnerabilities and identify potential risks.
- Install, configure, maintain, and monitor security software, including anti-malware tools and intrusion detection systems.
- Investigate and respond to security breaches and incidents, documenting the process and findings.
- Implement and ensure IT Security controls (Access Review, Segregation of duties, users’ privileges, and rights.
- Ensure compliance with security policies and best practices, and help users understand and follow security procedures.
- Provide training and education to users on security awareness and best practices.
- Monitor network traffic and system logs for suspicious activity and generate alerts when potential threats are detected.
- Troubleshoot security-related issues and provide technical support to users.
- Maintain accurate records of security configurations, incidents, and resolutions.
- Work with other IT professionals and team members to ensure effective security practices
Administrative and organization activities:
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the monitoring of tasks and generate reports weekly, Monthly and Quarterly.
- Write and update all deliverables related to his /her activities.
- Participate in the various technical meetings and review.
- Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate best practices into the Security procedures.
- Customer Service: ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by maintaining clear communication and providing timely updates on issue resolution. • Perform or ensure the training of the users.
Requirements:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity/ Information Technology or relevant technology field. CompTIA Security+, CCST or preferably CCNA.
Experience:
- Knowledge of network systems, architecture, and protocols (TCP/IP, VPNs, Firewalls, Wireless technologies).
- In-depth understanding of diverse computer systems and networks.
Additional Information:
- Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve security issues • Knowledge of network systems, architecture, and protocols (TCP/IP, VPNs, Firewalls, Wireless technologies)
- Strong understanding of network security, operating systems, security protocols, and common security technologies.
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills
Customer Service Orientation:
- Ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders, including technical and non-technical personnel
