Overview & Description:

The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing various financial aspects of the company's financial management system, including cost control, financial system setup, financial reporting, tax handling, procurement, and inventory management. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in accounting principles and practices, as well as the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a dynamic team environment. The incumbent will work at the Company’s Office in Paynesville, Montserrado County, Liberia

Responsibilities:

  • Cost Control: Monitor and analyze costs associated with titanium mining operations. Identify areas for cost reduction and efficiency improvement.
  • Financial System Setup: Collaborate with the finance team to set up and maintain effective financial systems, processes, and controls.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
  • Tax Handling: Assist in tax planning and compliance activities. Prepare and file tax returns in accordance with local and national tax regulations.
  • Inventory Management: Oversee inventory tracking and management, including valuation, reconciliation, and reporting.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the development of annual budgets and financial forecasts. Monitor and analyze actual performance against budgeted figures.
  • Audit Support: Collaborate with external auditors during annual audits. Provide necessary documentation and explanations to ensure a smooth audit process.
  • Compliance: Stay up-to-date with relevant financial regulations and industry standards. Ensure the company's financial activities are in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Perform other duties as may be required.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) qualification is a plus.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting or finance experience, preferably in working with Start-Ups and or within the Engineering service sector.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience in financial planning and budgeting
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Leadership ability
  • Computer Literacy with ability to work in QuickBooks or an accounting software.
